Germanys Reality Check, Köln 2006

I curated and produced the video presentation for the 15th anniversary of the basketball weekend "Germany's Reality Check," handling event promotion, exhibition curation, and tournament documentation.

Following a two-year corona break, I aimed for an authentic, urban, and stylish promotion, collaborating with the main sponsor, DefShop, to create an event trailer that highlighted key elements such as the tournament, dunk contest, exhibition, and the 15th anniversary.

As part of the 15th anniversary of the basketball weekend "Germany's Reality Check", I was responsible as curator and video producer for the presentation of the event, the curation of an exhibition and the entire documentation of the tournament.
The first step for me was to announce the event appropriately after a two-year corona break. It was important to me to highlight all the content elements - the tournament, the dunk contest, the exhibition and the 15th anniversary. I wanted to do this in an authentic, urban and stylish way.
In cooperation with this year's main sponsor, DefShop, we created the following event trailer.
As part of the GRC x DefShop campaign, I produced promotional photos for the basketball event, featuring carefully chosen models in GRC jerseys. The aim was not just to showcase the characters but also to capture the event's atmosphere and ambience. Stylized shots emphasized the dynamic nature of the sport and urbanity, with models reflecting authenticity and vibrant energy, embodying the excitement of the tournament.
As part of the campaign for GRC x DefShop, I created promotional photos that gave the basketball event a face. My aim was not only to showcase the characters themselves, but also to show them in a context that captures the atmosphere and ambience of the basketball event.
To achieve this, I used carefully selected models who not only wore GRC's jerseys, but also created a connection to the local basketball community and the event. The shots were stylized to emphasize the dynamic nature of the sport and the urbanity of the event. I made sure the models looked authentic and exuded a vibrant energy that reflected the excitement of the tournament.
As the curator of an exhibition showcasing the 15-year history of the Cologne basketball tournament, my role involved creating a captivating and comprehensive presentation that highlighted the tournament's development, key moments, and distinctive features.
As curator of an exhibition on the 15-year history of the Cologne basketball tournament, my task was to create a captivating and comprehensive presentation that illustrated the development, highlights and special features of the tournament.
I conducted thorough research to collect diverse materials, such as photos, videos, press articles, and personal accounts from organizers, players, coaches, and fans, forming the foundation for the exhibition.
I began with extensive research to gather a wide range of materials, including photos, videos, press articles, and also personal accounts from the organizer, players, coaches and fans. The compilation of this material formed the basis for the exhibition.
Based on my research, the next step was to carefully select the photo and video exhibits for the exhibition. This involved viewing and selecting over 30,000 photo and video documents.
Following my research, I meticulously curated the exhibition by carefully selecting photo and video exhibits from a pool of over 30,000 documents.

As curator, I focused on making a relevant and interesting selection of images for the presentation by creating a chronological narrative about the 15-year history of the tournament. The narrative was structured and coherent, with a division into different sections and years to give visitors a clear chronological development.
In my role as curator, I emphasized selecting compelling images to create a chronological narrative outlining the 15-year history of the tournament. The presentation was organized into distinct sections and years, offering visitors a clear and coherent understanding of the tournament's chronological development.
After completing the concept and image selection for over 250 works, I categorized the works into different sizes and print formats. I then developed a presentation concept for the basketball hall by redesigning the conservatory as an entrance area. Due to limited options, I decided to use wooden slatted walls covered with black tightly stretched molleton. In this way I created a tunnel that served as a timeline to mount and present the pictures.
Having finalized the concept and selected over 250 images, I categorized them by size and print format. I then devised a presentation concept for the basketball hall, transforming the conservatory into an entrance area. Faced with limited options, I opted for wooden slatted walls covered in black tightly stretched molleton to construct a tunnel serving as a timeline for mounting and presenting the pictures.
Overall, my focus was to not only present a physical collection of artifacts, but also to create an engaging and educational experience that immersed visitors in the fascinating history of this Cologne basketball tournament.
The last step for me was to document the event and manage the event production.
